City Hosts

Ambassadors and champions for the BID area, the City Hosts welcome, guide and assist visitors in Norwich. Out and about (rain or shine!) Monday to Saturday, the hosts also often support our BID events and festivals in Norwich, too.

Since June 2013, local people with a love of Norwich have volunteered as City Hosts to meet, greet and direct visitors. Our volunteer team are from a range of backgrounds: from retirees looking for a hobby, to students looking to develop their skills and experience. And our volunteers all have one thing in common: a passion for Norwich’s rich history, culture, heritage and diversity.

The hosts are hugely popular with visitors and businesses alike. Their distinctive blue ‘Here to Help’ tabards are now a famous sight on our high street, and the scheme itself is a nationally recognised example of best-practice for other towns and cities
