Norwich Blooms: Spring Garlands take over the city!
Norwich Blooms: The first weekend of Spring Garlands!
Spring Garlands, inspired by Norwich’s unique floral history, was launched Saturday May 1, with more than 30 businesses across Norwich decking their doors. We’re delighted by the number of businesses participating, and the wonderful creativity they have shown with their door decorations! Businesses have been sharing their gorgeous creations across social media, using the hashtag #NorwichBlooms.
Debuted for the first May Bank Holiday—the first long weekend after leaving lockdown—Spring Garlands was designed to create a celebratory feeling in the city centre, and drive footfall. In spite of inclement and unseasonable weather, the first weekend was a huge success! More than 30 businesses from across sectors participated, decorating their windows, doors, and interiors with stunning installations.
From coffee shops to bookshops to our favourite department stores, Norwich businesses turned out in style, demonstrating their merchandising skills, and crafty talents. From book page blossoms, to fresh-cut flowers, to artificial blooms, #NorwichBlooms has swept the city, and social media. With more than 100 posts over the # in the first three days of launch, as well as coverage in local media, Spring Garlands has created a vibrant buzz for the city centre.
Businesses are encouraged to leave their decorations in place across the month of May, and are still able to get involved now – it’s not too late! Businesses simply need to decorate their windows and doors with a floral inspired look, tag @NorwichBIDUK and use #NorwichBlooms, or drop us an email firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope to bring Spring Garlands back in 2022, and maybe even beyond. If your business is participating, please do save your decorations for next year!
From all of us at Norwich BID - thank you for your support, and your beautiful creations!
