Norwich City Centre Recovery Framework: We want your input
We're pleased to share with you our framework for how Norwich city centre will respond to changing government restrictions on movement and trading. We're also asking for Norwich businesses to participate in 'Planning Ahead Teams' as we create an approach for the short, medium and long-term.
Dear Norwich Business,
Following the recent updates from the UK Government, we welcome the Prime Minister’s statement and the outline guidance for the first steps to people safely returning to work. The resumption of economic activity is one of the key pillars of the country’s recovery, and our Norwich business community is exploring all the options of how this return to work will act in practice. Critically, our team is working hard on establishing clear next-steps for how businesses can protect their employees, customers, and maintain physical distancing.
There are areas of the Government’s newly-announced plan that will need far more consideration, and we are working with businesses to explore how these new recommendations can be implemented in our city effectively.
We will also continue to challenge the Government on behalf of our businesses. We need to understand what additional support will be in place for the business community, in order to allow them to plan for opening with confidence.
Norwich BID is working collaboratively with our partners at the Local Authorities, Public Health and the wider business community to implement our new Norwich Recovery Framework (published on our website), as we move towards the transformation of our city. We’re also asking for your involvement in implementing this framework: As part of newly-established ‘Planning Ahead Teams’, we want to ensure that Norwich’s strategy for re-opening is representative of the spectrum of businesses we are very proud to represent. Please do read our draft recovery framework to find out more information, and how you can help.
Yours in support,
Executive Director, Norwich BID
