As an independent organisation representing the city's interests, and the businesses within it, we regularly lead and support funding bids to bring revenue to Norwich.
Across 2019 & 2020 we have applied for over £60 million in funding grants and investment opportunities, hoping to bring targeted income to improve vital city infrastructure, and safeguard Norwich into the decades ahead. We apply for funding from various income streams, from EU funding to Government initiatives, with finance boosts received across sectors.
Recent successful funding bids include the BID supported £59 million to improve sustainable transport in Norwich, £500,000 in a combined tourism grant for the East of England, £180,000 in the EU funded circular economy project Upcycle Your Waste and £49,995 for Love Light Norwich, which brought 15,000 people into Norwich during the off-season.
Norwich BID is committed to investing in our local economy, not only by supporting businesses in reducing costs, but by seeking out opportunities to bring funding into the city. We are proactive in discovering grant opportunities and potential funding streams, focussing on work which reinforces our mission to help Norwich thrive. For every pound that we have received in direct levy payments, we have leveraged a further pound in project funding for the BID, as well as supporting over £60 million of income streams for the wider city.
