BID Breakfast: Devolution & Steering Sustainable Transport
Join us for a free morning of networking over a delicious breakfast for the opportunity to discuss how devolution might impact transport and the city’s connectivity.
What does devolution mean for sustainable local transport? How will it impact your business? What can we do to prepare?
We’ll be treated to talks from Niki Park (Norfolk County Council), Jonathan Denby, (Greater Anglia), and Ben Lee (Beryl).
This event will be held at the beautiful Carrow House (King St, Norwich NR1 2TN). Parking will be available.
Meet our speakers below….
Niki Park is the Head of Passenger Transport at Norfolk County Council, having started there 30 years ago within the school transport section. She now heads up the team looking after public transport, school transport, social care transport (for adults and children), community transport, bus service infrastructure, concessionary travel and public transport information.
In 2022 Norfolk was awarded £49.55m in funding to improve public transport and Niki has spent the last 3 years ensuring that these improvements are delivered, resulting in a 16% increase in passenger journeys by bus and a return to pre-pandemic levels quicker than other local authorities. This improvement programme is continuing into 2025-26 following a further allocation of £15.9m.

Jonathan Denby is Head of Corporate Affairs for Greater Anglia, a role that encompasses PR, public affairs, stakeholder relations, community engagement, integrated transport, and regional rail strategy. He has held a number of senior positions in train companies during his career, all focused on promoting, developing and delivering better rail services for the customers and communities that depend on them.
Highlights include new services (such as Norwich to Cambridge), better facilities on trains (including for accessibility, Wi-Fi, and bicycles), community rail partnerships, station adoption and a pivotal role in the introduction of new trains, including the transformative fleet replacement programme that Greater Anglia has delivered across its entire network.

Ben Lee is the Partnerships Lead at Beryl helping partners develop sustainable active travel practice with their fleet of bikes and scooters. Working with both commercial and public sector organisations, his role can help shape how people move around towns and cities.
Beryl is the UK’s leading micromobility company, championing sustainable travel options to help reduce road congestion and improve air quality and public health.
A B-Corp certified operator, we deliver schemes in partnership with cities and communities, placing people, social responsibility and environmental sustainability at the same level as financial sustainability.
