Sip, Savour, Celebrate: Looking Back on Norwich Wine Week 2025

From 18 – 29 June 2025, Norwich Wine Week returned with a varied programme of events celebrating local and international wine culture. The city-wide series invited people to explore tastings, special menus and creative wine experiences hosted across bars, restaurants, and cultural venues.

Organised by Norwich Business Improvement District (BID), Norwich Wine Week is part of a broader effort to support our local businesses and shine a light on Norfolk’s growing place in the national wine scene. With VisitEngland recognising wine tourism as a developing sector, and evidence of winemaking in the region dating back to Roman times, Norwich is well-placed to be part of this wider narrative.

Norwich Wine Week began with the sold-out Uncorked event at Dragon Hall on Wednesday 18 June. Informal and welcoming, the evening set the tone for a week focused on exploration and variety across city venues.

Uncorked also reflected a broader interpretation of what wine-related experiences could look like. Alongside traditional vineyards such as Burn Valley, Chet Valley and Flint, the line-up included newer exhibitors Laylo (known for their boxed and canned wine) and Oichi with their award-winning kombucha.

Initial feedback for the event from visitors has been extremely positive, with Uncorked receiving an average customer satisfaction score of 4.31 out of 5 from those surveyed.

Then, between 19 and 29 June, more than 30 Showcase events and discounts were available throughout the city. The Wine Week Showcase offered everything from premium wine-pairing dinners to casual tastings. Efforts were made to keep the programme accessible in both content and pricing, with events designed to suit all different levels of wine knowledge.

Creative formats were also more visible during The Showcase this year. Highlights included a cheese and wine event at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, a wine and tarot evening at First Draft, and wine cocktails served at the board game café Slice+Dice. These events opened new ways for people to engage with wine in relaxed settings.

With strong participation from both local venues and producers, Norwich Wine Week continues to develop as a city-wide celebration of wine that’s designed to be approachable, varied and shaped by the character of the region.
