Norwich Castle Projections
The Castle Projections created a stunning city-centre attraction, transforming Norwich’s twelfth-century palace with eye-catching illuminations. Supporting Norwich’s reputation as a city of light, the projector was used to elevate key cultural events and causes.
Norwich BID invested in a high-quality laser projector for the city, allowing the castle to be lit up sustainably with an extraordinary impact. In the centre of the city, the Castle Projections attracted large audiences and brightened the cityscape during the dark hours.
Projections included a short animation celebrating Love Light Norwich, which depicted the timeless tale of two lovebirds singing and trilling in their golden cages. This display was seen by more than 15,000 visitors. That autumn, falling poppies marked Armistice Day, while the castle appeared to fill with milk to highlight the issue of food waste in Norfolk.
The media interest, impact on the general public, and coverage of past projects demonstrated the captivation and awareness that could be achieved through clever, creative, and highly visual projections. It was an exciting opportunity to reach audiences and capture their attention with a creative offering.
The unique nature of the Castle Projections provided fantastic PR opportunities for Norwich and the highlighted organisations. The projections helped raise the profile of city-centre events locally and nationally.
