Norwich blooms with wisteria festoon.
As part of our 2021 city activation work, where we bring the city to life with atmosphere enhancing projects, a brand-new floral canopy has been installed on London Street. Inspired by Norwich's horticultural heritage, this wisteria installation is designed to create a welcoming and cheerful feeling in the centre of the city, and is a first for Norwich.
The flower canopy is a continuation of our Spring Garlands project, where businesses across the city decorated their windows with floral-inspired fixtures. This floral extravaganza pays homage to the Florists' Feast, a 290 year old local tradition, where people came from across the country to Norwich to see the latest breeds of flowers, and explore new gardening techniques.
The floral canopy will be in place from 26 May until early September. Vinyls will be installed in shop windows to share the history of the Florists' Feast, and offer a brightly coloured selfie background.
