DISC

DISC – The FREE, secure, online business crime information sharing platform for Norwich

The Database & Intranet for Safer Communities (DISC) is a secure online information sharing and exchange platform designed for businesses across Norwich. The platform bridges the gap between Norfolk Constabulary and the communities they serve with peer-to-peer sharing through reports or instant messaging.

The platform is free to use and serves as a vital tool for reducing local and persistent low-level crime.

Through DISC, we issue alerts, details of upcoming events and e-newsletters containing intelligence reports of identified and unidentified offenders and is a central repository of information used to keep our streets safe.

The platform operates through businesses contributing crucial information about offenders, antisocial behaviour and incidents, providing other businesses with the essential information to prevent travelling crime. DISC is a national platform used by over 450 towns and cities in the UK.

DISC is quick and simple to navigate and use, either through the website or the DISC App, making finding and reporting offences easy. Compliant by design, DISC was built against the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR legislation to provide comprehensive ‘technical security’.

We work with the National Business Crime Solution (NBCS), a not-for-profit initiative providing the police and business community with regional and national information to tackle traveling crime. This is integrated directly into DISC.
